Exciting contract opportunities are available for dedicated Sign Language Interpreters seeking to make a meaningful impact within educational settings near Round Lake, IL. Two positions are open, each offering a unique schedule and work environment, providing valuable support for students and staff in a vibrant school community.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and strong interpreting skills
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher with Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Approval
- EIPA score of 3.0-3.4 considered with interim ISBE Interim Approval
- BEI, ISAS, CI/CT, or NIC credentials also considered with ISBE Approval
- Experience providing interpreting services within schools or youth environments preferred
- Professionalism, reliability, and a passion for student success
Position Details:
1st Position:
- Location: John Powers Center, Vernon Hills, IL
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
- Assignment runs through May 28, 2027
2nd Position:
- Location: Grayslake North High School, Grayslake, IL
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
- Assignment runs through May 20, 2027
Both roles require onsite presence and offer the chance to engage with a team focused on inclusivity and student achievement.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitating clear communication between students, staff, and faculty using sign language
- Supporting students’ participation in classroom activities and school events
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional ethical standards
- Collaborating with instructional staff to best meet student needs
