Sign Language Interpreter in Grayslake, IL

Qualifications and Skills:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and adept at interpreting in an educational context
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher with ISBE Approval preferred
- EIPA score of 3.0-3.4 considered with interim Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Interim Approval
- Alternatively, BEI, ISAS, CI/CT, or NIC credentials accepted with ISBE Approval
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Reliable, professional, and able to adapt to varying classroom environments
Position Details: First Opening:
- Full-day schedule: Monday through Friday, 9am–3pm, extending through May 28, 2027
- Based at an inclusive center supporting diverse student needs
Second Opening:
- Morning schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am–12:00pm, continuing through May 20, 2027
- Located in a vibrant high school environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive sign language interpretation, ensuring clear communication for students during classes, meetings, and school events
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to adapt materials and support individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times
- Participate in ongoing professional development
