Both roles are onsite and contract-based, running through the 2026-2027 school year.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid credentials: EIPA score of 3.5+ with Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Approval, or EIPA score of 3.0-3.4 with ISBE Interim Approval
- BEI, ISAS, CI/CT, or NIC certifications with ISBE Approval also accepted
- Proficiency in American Sign Language and educational interpretation best practices
- Experience supporting K-12 students in school settings highly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with educators, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide interpretation services to facilitate classroom communication among students, teachers, and peers
- Support student understanding during classroom instruction, discussions, and activities
- Collaborate with educational professionals to support student learning goals and accommodation plans
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity
- Adapt interpretation style for various classroom activities and individual student needs
- Participate in team meetings or professional development as appropriate
Role Details: 1st Position: John Powers Center in Vernon Hills
- Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 3:00pm
- Assignment through May 28, 2027
2nd Position: Grayslake North High School
- Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 12:00pm
- Assignment through May 20, 2027
