Qualifications:
- Valid SLI Certification for Texas
- BEI Certification required
- Experience interpreting in educational settings strongly preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to interpret for a diverse age range, from kindergarten through high school
- Professionalism, adaptability, and strong interpersonal communication skills
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, accurate sign language interpretation in classroom and school-related settings
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff
- Adapt interpreting style as necessary for different age groups and individual needs
- Support inclusion by assisting with both academic and extracurricular activities
