Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Navasota, Texas

Key Qualifications:
- Active Texas Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) Certification
- Current BEI Certification
- Proven ability to work effectively with children and adolescents from Kindergarten through grade 12
- Professional and reliable communication skills
- Experience in educational settings beneficial, though not required
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide clear, accurate interpretation of spoken language into sign language and vice versa during class instruction, events, and school activities
- Facilitate communication between students, educational staff, and peers
- Adjust interpreting style as needed according to student needs and classroom context
- Maintain ethical standards and uphold student privacy
- Participate in team and planning meetings as requested
- Contribute to a positive, supportive learning environment
This contract opportunity starts as soon as possible and extends through May 26, 2027, allowing you to develop meaningful relationships with students and staff throughout the school year. As hours and workdays are per diem and as needed, this position offers maximum flexibility for your schedule.
