Position highlights: assist a 9th-grade student in a behavioral classroom setting as a dedicated sign language interpreter. You’ll be working Fridays only, providing vital interpretation during instructional periods. The student, returning from a specialized residential program, uses cochlear implants, hearing aids, and an assistive listening device, and is making important transitions in his educational journey.

Qualifications:

  • Valid and current licensure or certification for Sign Language Interpretation
  • Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Previous experience supporting students in an educational setting preferred
  • Flexibility to work Fridays and to substitute if needed

Responsibilities:

  • Provide ASL interpretation during classroom instruction (6.5 hours/week, Fridays only)
  • Collaborate with another language facilitator (job-share model)
  • Effectively support student communication needs across academic activities
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
