Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter or Language Facilitator
- Skilled in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience in educational settings, preferably working with behavioral students
- Must meet state and local licensing requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively and adapt in dynamic classroom situations
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate communication and instruction for a 9th-grade student with cochlear implants and ALD devices
- Provide ASL interpretation during instructional periods (Fridays only)
- Collaborate with staff, students, and families to support a positive learning environment
- Substitute for a colleague if the primary Language Facilitator (Mon-Thurs) is absent
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all policies and procedures
