Key Qualifications:
- Valid ASLPI score of 4.1 or above
- Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school or similar setting preferred
- Strong understanding of the needs of Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing students
- Ability to support individualized student goals within the classroom environment
- Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills
- Open to local and travel candidates
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct 1:1 interpreting services to students during classroom instruction and activities
- Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Support educational objectives by adapting interpreting style to meet student needs
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards
- Collaborate with school staff and participate in individualized education program (IEP) meetings as needed
- Stay informed on best practices in educational interpreting
