Qualifications & Experience:
- Current licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter is required
- Minimum ASLPI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview) score of 4.1
- Previous experience working 1:1 with pediatric or school-aged children
- Strong professionalism, interpersonal skills, and a collaborative attitude
- Ability to adapt communication styles to individual student needs
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards in an educational environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate 1:1 sign language interpretation between students, staff, and peers during classroom activities, meetings, and school events
- Support the educational and social goals of students by bridging communication gaps
- Collaborate with teachers and support personnel to facilitate a fully inclusive learning environment
- Assist with tracking student progress and adapting methods as necessary
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation and comply with school policies
