Key Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language and previous experience interpreting in educational settings
- Experience supporting high school-aged students is strongly preferred
- Comfortable collaborating with educators, support staff, and families
- Current certifications or credentials required by the state for educational sign language interpreters
- Strong communication skills, empathy, and ability to adapt in dynamic environments
Your Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school events to support deaf/hard-of-hearing students
- Work closely with teachers and staff to ensure seamless communication
- Foster student engagement and encourage participation in all aspects of school life
- Adhere to professional standards of confidentiality and conduct
- Provide feedback to the educational team about student needs, progress, and necessary accommodations
