Position 1:
– High school setting
– 35 hours per week
– Schedule: 8:00am – 3:45pm
– Located in Loomis, CA
Position 2:
– Elementary school setting
– 30 hours per week
– Schedule: 8:00am – 2:30pm
– Initial location in Oroville, CA, with a transition to Roseville, CA in the next school year
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Prior experience interpreting within educational settings is highly valued
- Ability to adapt language to meet students’ needs at various academic levels
- Professional certification or state licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (or eligibility to obtain)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliability and commitment to consistent scheduling
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate, real-time interpretation for students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing during instructional and extracurricular activities
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to foster inclusive classroom participation
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and a student-focused approach at all times
- Adjust interpretations to varied learning contexts, supporting both academic content and social interaction
- Provide feedback to the education team regarding communication needs and student progress
