Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings
- Familiarity with school-aged children and a collaborative approach to supporting students, teachers, and staff
- Ability to adapt interpretation styles for various learning and communication needs
- Knowledge of relevant policies, confidentiality, and ethical guidelines
- Professional certification or credentialing preferred
Position Details: 1st Opportunity
- High school assignment
- 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday
- Schedule: 8:00am to 3:45pm
2nd Opportunity
- Elementary school assignment
- 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday
- Schedule: 8:00am to 2:30pm
- Initial location in Oroville, CA, with a transition to Roseville, CA for the next school year
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective, accurate ASL interpretation during classroom instruction, assemblies, and school activities
- Facilitate clear communication between students who are deaf/hard of hearing, peers, and educators
- Support students’ access to curriculum and participation in school life
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure consistent, inclusive support
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and flexibility
