Sign Language Interpreter in Roseville, CA
Take the next step in your career by supporting K-12 students as a Sign Language Interpreter in a vibrant educational setting. Two contract opportunities are available—one at the high school level and another at the elementary level—offering meaningful work that helps empower students to achieve their best.
For the first role, you’ll partner with a high school team for 35 hours per week, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. The second position focuses on supporting elementary-aged children for 30 hours each week, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; this assignment is initially based in Oroville, CA, with a transition to Roseville, CA for the next school year.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language and the ability to interpret in an educational environment.
- Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting is highly desirable.
- Flexibility and adaptability with assignment locations and student needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with students, teachers, and staff.
- Certification and credentials as required by California for educational interpreters.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpreting services to facilitate communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Interpret classroom instruction, lectures, discussions, and other school activities.
- Assist teachers and staff in adapting instructional materials and activities to student needs.
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and respectful interactions with all school community members.
- Monitor student progress and offer feedback to the educational team.
