What We’re Looking For:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Valid Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) or an equivalent assessment certification with a score of 4.0 or higher
- Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting preferred, but strong entry-level candidates with appropriate certification are encouraged to apply
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators and other staff
- Flexibility to adapt to different school environments and student needs
- Professionalism and reliability
Core Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction and conversation between students and staff
- Support student participation in both academic and extracurricular activities
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of interpreting
- Prepare for classes by familiarizing yourself with curriculum and materials as needed
- Act as a resource for teachers and staff regarding deafness, sign language, and communication needs
- Contribute to a supportive, inclusive learning environment
