Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Minimum score of 4.0 or higher on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) or an equivalent recognized assessment
- Strong American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency and ability to interpret across a range of educational settings
- Familiarity with K-12 learning environments preferred
- Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and student-centered support
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in classroom and school activities
- Accurately convey spoken and signed information between staff, students, and peers
- Work closely with teachers and educational teams to ensure accessibility and understanding
- Support instructional goals and facilitate engagement for assigned students
- Adapt interpreting methods to accommodate a range of learning styles and environments
- Maintain compliance with all school policies and educational law guidelines
