We are currently seeking multiple onsite Sign Language Interpreters (SLIs) to join a supportive school district in the Sacramento, California area. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals who are passionate about helping students access their education and reach their full potential in an inclusive learning environment.
As a School-Based Sign Language Interpreter, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their teachers, peers, and school staff. Responsibilities
Provide sign language interpretation services for students in classroom and school-related settings
Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers
Support student access to academic instruction and extracurricular activities
Collaborate with educators and special education teams
Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards
Attend meetings, school events, and activities as needed to support student success
Qualifications
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
Previous experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter preferred
Educational Interpreter certification or equivalent credentials preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively with students, families, and school staff
Passion for supporting students and fostering inclusive learning environments
