Key Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or Texas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing: BEI I or II (previous system) or Basic (current system).
- Previous experience interpreting in school settings or with pediatric populations is highly valued.
- Comfortable serving a caseload spanning pre-kindergarten to 8th grade (exact student numbers TBD).
- Ability to pass a district fingerprinting and background check as required.
- Professionalism, flexibility, and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Availability for full-time, 37.5 hours per week, beginning as soon as possible through May 26, 2027.
Position Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, activities, and events for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
- Work one-on-one or in group settings to support language access and student engagement.
- Facilitate communication between students, educators, and peers, ensuring equal access to all school-related content.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards.
