Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:
- Hold a Virginia Quality Assurance Screening (VQAS) Level III certification
- Possess an Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher, as well as a passing score on the EIPA written test
- Meet any other qualifications recognized as equivalent by the Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (VDDHH)
- Demonstrate proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and the ability to facilitate clear communication in both educational and social settings
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and staff
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing sign language interpretation in classrooms and around school grounds, ensuring students’ full participation in academic and extracurricular activities
