Remote Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Washington
Federal Way, WA
Position available for a full-time Sign Language Interpreter specializing in Telehealth and educational settings. This role operates Monday through Friday, from 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM, supporting middle school students within a comprehensive Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) program.
Responsibilities:
- Provide interpreting services in a variety of educational environments including DHH classrooms, general education classrooms, small group sessions, and one-on-one settings.
- Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and staff, ensuring accessibility and inclusion.
- Support the needs of a middle school caseload, adapting to individual student requirements.
- Collaborate within a structured district program that offers extensive support for DHH education.
Qualifications:
- Minimum preferred EIPA score of 3.5.
- Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational contexts.
- Familiarity with Telehealth interpreting practices is an asset.
- Strong ability to work with middle school-aged students.
- Capacity to navigate and contribute to an established DHH program structure.
