Online Sign Language Interpreter - WA

A full-time Sign Language Interpreter opportunity is available to support students within a comprehensive Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) program in Kent, WA. This role focuses on providing effective communication access for middle school students across various educational settings.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering sign language interpretation services in DHH classrooms, general education classrooms, small groups, and one-on-one settings
- Facilitating communication between students, teachers, and staff to promote an inclusive learning environment
- Collaborating within a structured DHH program that offers extensive support and resources
- Adhering to scheduled hours from Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with a demonstrated minimum EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 preferred
- Experience working with middle school-aged students in educational settings
- Ability to interpret effectively across different classroom environments and group sizes
- Familiarity with DHH education and telehealth interpreting is advantageous
