School Social Worker (Elementary K-5)

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Social Worker to support elementary students in grades K-5. This full-time, onsite role focuses on providing social work services to students with special education needs while promoting their social, emotional, and academic success. The ideal candidate is passionate about advocating for children, collaborating with educators and families, and connecting students to the resources they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct social work services to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and special education needs.
- Support students facing challenges related to trauma, homelessness, behavioral concerns, and social-emotional development.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, counselors, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement student support plans.
- Conduct assessments, interventions, and progress monitoring as appropriate.
- Partner with families to identify needs and connect them with community resources, programs, and support services.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals and interventions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with school, district, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- Valid School Social Worker credential, certification, or license as required by state regulations.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.
- Knowledge of special education processes, IEPs, and social-emotional learning practices.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and case management skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, school staff, and community partners.
