This full-time, full school year position is exclusively on-site and offers the chance to serve students across a range of needs, from mild to severe, in both special and general education classrooms.
As an itinerant interpreter, you'll engage at multiple school sites, providing essential communication access to students and staff. You’ll collaborate closely with educators and related services to foster an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.
Key Qualifications:
- Current CDE Authorization to operate as an educational Sign Language Interpreter in Colorado (requirement for all local assignments)
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (must meet state and district guidelines)
- Experience interpreting across a diverse range of educational settings (special education and general education)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language and understanding of Deaf culture
- Flexibility and adaptability to work at multiple campuses as needed
- Ability to travel between sites within the school district
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, real-time sign language interpreting services for students and staff
- Ensure clarity and fidelity of communication in classrooms, meetings, and school activities
- Support students’ academic participation by accurately conveying spoken and signed content
- Partner with educators to adapt to various learning environments and student needs
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with school policies and professional standards
