Key Qualifications:
- EIPA Score of 3.5 or above is required
- Must hold valid CDE Authorization for educational sign language interpreters in Colorado
- Previous experience supporting students in K-12 settings is preferred
- Comfortable working onsite and able to travel between multiple school sites as an itinerant interpreter
- Skilled in facilitating communication for both general and special education, adapting to varied student needs
- Professionalism, flexibility, and strong collaboration skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and foster a supportive environment for students and staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities in American Sign Language
- Collaborate with general and special education teachers and related service providers
- Adapt interpreting style to meet diverse communication needs of students
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the educational planning process
- Support students in a range of educational settings and integrate smoothly across different campuses
- Uphold all ethical and professional standards set by educational interpreting guidelines
