This full-time, onsite contract opportunity enables dedicated interpreters to work closely with students in one assigned school within a welcoming educational environment. Multiple site options are available, offering flexibility based on your caseload preferences—typically involving one or two students within inclusive classroom settings.
Key Qualifications:
- Proficient Sign Language Interpreter with experience in school-based settings
- RID certification or an EIPA score of 4.0+ preferred (open to strong candidates nearing these credentials)
- Ability to collaborate with educators and staff to support individual communication needs
- Commitment to maintaining a supportive, inclusive environment for students of varying age groups
- Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability in classroom settings
- Must be available for onsite work throughout the full school year
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide interpreting services for assigned students, helping bridge communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Facilitate effective participation and access to curriculum and school activities
- Collaborate with classroom staff to implement best practices for student engagement
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards in educational interpretation
