Sign Language Interpreter in Phoenix, AZ

You’ll facilitate communication and help bridge educational access each school day, working alongside teachers and staff committed to student success.
Bring your expertise in American Sign Language to empower students, enrich classroom experiences, and foster meaningful connections. You’ll work 35 hours a week, Monday through Friday, supporting a diverse range of learners across elementary, middle, and high school settings.
Qualifications:
- Active Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) license or prior experience in ASL/educational interpreting
- Valid IVP (Identity Verified Prints) card
- Current driver’s license
- Previous experience with K-12 students is a strong plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and voice for deaf/hard-of-hearing students across varied subjects and grade levels
- Collaborate with teaching staff, special education professionals, and families to support individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assist with classroom activities, school events, and meetings, ensuring complete access for students
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times in compliance with ethical interpreting standards
- Adapt to diverse educational needs and classroom environments
