- Demonstrate proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and the ability to interpret in a K-12 school setting
- Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with teachers, staff, and students
Key responsibilities in this role include:
- Providing accurate interpreting services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in classrooms and various school activities
- Facilitating effective communication between students, educators, and families
- Assisting with the preparation of instructional materials as needed for interpreted sessions
- Maintaining confidentiality and upholding professional and ethical standards at all times
- Participating in IEP meetings, staff conferences, and other school-based discussions regarding student needs
