1:1 High School Sign Language Interpreter
Morganton, NC
Soliant is seeking a dedicated and skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide one-on-one support for a high school student during the 2026–2027 academic year. This role is located just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina, and will involve working closely with the student across academic classes and school activities to ensure full access to communication and instruction.

Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate real-time interpretation: Deliver clear, precise interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language (ASL) for a high school student across all classroom instruction, discussions, and school-related activities.
- Support student access to education: Facilitate full participation by interpreting lectures, group work, tests, and multimedia content while adapting communication to meet the student’s language preferences and comprehension needs.
- Collaborate with school staff: Work closely with teachers, special education teams, and support staff to align with the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) and promote academic success.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality: Follow the RID Code of Professional Conduct, protect student privacy, and demonstrate consistent punctuality, preparedness, and ethical behavior in the school environment.
Experience:
- Previous experience in schools preferred.
Education:
- North Carolina Certification in Visual Education
- 3.5 EIPA or RID preferred
