Travel Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Norfolk, VA

This travel assignment takes place during the academic year, running from August 24th, 2026, through June 4th, 2027, granting you consistency and security. You’ll generally support one school location, focusing your expertise and allowing for meaningful connections with students and staff. Flexibility in caseload is valued, so express any age group preferences; we are happy to accommodate when possible.
Qualifications:
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher, or VQAS 3 preferred
- EIPA 3.0 or VQAS 2 will be considered if you are committed to advancing certification within 3 years
- Prior experience in school-based interpreting strongly desired
- Ability to adapt to diverse student needs and educational environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct sign language interpreting for students in K–12 settings
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student learning
- Maintain professional ethics and confidentiality
- Participate in IEP meetings and staff collaboration as needed
- Embrace adaptability across varying assignments or caseloads
