Qualifications:
- Hold current Oklahoma Quality Assurance Screening Test (QAST) certification
- Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification required
- Completed Training and Assessment Systems for K-12 Educational Interpreters (TASK 12)
- Experience with sign language interpretation in educational settings preferred
- Strong understanding of Deaf culture and interpreting best practices
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction and school communications for one high school student on a daily basis
- Foster an inclusive and accessible learning experience
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure effective accommodation
- Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions
- Adjust approach as needed to meet individual student needs and educational goals
- Maintain accurate records of interpreting services rendered
This role is full time, with 33.75 hours per week across a standard 5-day school schedule, ensuring you have evenings and weekends to yourself.
