Job Responsibilities
- Provide interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in classroom and school settings
- Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers
- Support student access to instruction, classroom activities, and school-related communication
- Collaborate with educational teams to promote student success and inclusion
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow school-based interpreting guidelines
- Maintain professional accreditations, licensing, and/or continuing education requirements as required
Qualifications

Virginia Quality Assurance Screening (VQAS) Level III required
OR -
Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher and a passing score on the written test
OR - Other qualifications deemed equivalent by the Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (VDDHH)
- Experience providing interpreting services in an educational setting preferred
- Strong communication skills and commitment to supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing
