Step into a meaningful role supporting elementary students as a Sign Language Interpreter for the upcoming school year. This contract position is based near Arvada, CO, and will involve working one-on-one with an elementary-age student in an engaging, educational environment. The assignment runs from August 6, 2026, through May 27, 2027, providing you with the opportunity to make a real difference over the course of the academic year. In-person support is required—remote options are not available for this role.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid EIPA score of 4.0 or above
- Previous experience in a school setting as a Sign Language Interpreter preferred
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a 1:1 student setting
- Commitment to confidentiality, ethical standards, and professionalism
- Flexibility and a collaborative approach with both staff and students
- Able to maintain a consistent on-site presence throughout the assignment
Responsibilities:
- Provide interpreting services to facilitate communication between the assigned elementary student, peers, and educational staff
- Support the student in both classroom and non-classroom activities as required
- Collaborate with educators to help implement the Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
- Accurately interpret spoken language and sign language in real time
- Contribute to a supportive and inclusive educational atmosphere
