Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Authorization for Educational Sign Language Interpreters is strictly required
  • Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
  • Previous experience interpreting within school settings—Special Education and General Education, mild to severe environments—strongly preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently across multiple campuses in an itinerant capacity
  • Proven interpersonal skills to collaborate with educators, staff, students, and families
  • Commitment to professional ethics and confidentiality

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate effective communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, teachers, and school staff throughout the day
  • Interpret a variety of classroom content and school activities, adapting style and register as needed
  • Support both academic and social integration for students, advocating for accessible participation
  • Collaborate with teachers, case managers, and service providers to tailor interpreting services
  • Maintain thorough documentation as required by district and state guidelines
  • Demonstrate flexibility in adjusting to schedule or site changes, maintaining reliable coverage across assigned locations
