Key Qualifications:
- Current Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Authorization as an Educational Sign Language Interpreter (required)
- Minimum EIPA score of 3.5
- Experience interpreting in both Special Education (mild to severe needs) and General Education environments
- Proficient in American Sign Language and familiar with educational and classroom terminology
- Ability to manage an itinerant schedule, traveling between multiple school sites as needed
- Strong commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and student-centered support
Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpretation services for students and staff in a variety of classroom and school settings, ensuring full access and participation for all assigned students
- Collaborate closely with educational teams, including teachers, administrators, and special services staff
- Adjust interpreting style to meet the diverse needs of students (mild to severe disabilities)
- Travel between school sites according to scheduling requirements
- Accurately convey spoken information into sign language and vice versa in both academic and extracurricular activities
- Maintain professional documentation and adhere to all district, state, and federal standards
