As an itinerant interpreter, you’ll work across several school sites in both Special Education and General Education settings—from mild to severe cases—impacting the lives of a broad spectrum of students. Qualifications:
- Possession of a CDE Authorization for educational sign language interpreters (required)
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (mandatory)
- Professional experience interpreting in K-12 educational settings preferred
- Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to work onsite and travel between multiple schools
- Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpreting services for students in both SPED and general education programs
- Support communication access in classrooms, meetings, and school events, adapting to individual student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff
- Maintain accurate records related to interpreting assignments
