Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Englewood, Colorado

Step into a dynamic educational setting as a Sign Language Interpreter supporting both Special Education and General Education students. This full-time, full-school-year position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across multiple sites within a vibrant district. The role is itinerant, meaning you'll collaborate with diverse teams and adapt your skills to serve students with a variety of needs, from mild to severe.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities for students who are d/Deaf or hard of hearing
- Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Provide services in a range of environments, including both general and special education classrooms
- Adapt interpreting style and strategies to meet the unique needs of each student across different educational settings
- Support students during extracurricular events and activities as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards
- Travel to multiple school sites within the district as part of the itinerant team
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid CDE Authorization to work as an educational sign language interpreter
- Successful completion of the EIPA exam with a score of 3.5 or higher (required for this assignment)
- Prior experience interpreting in a K-12 educational environment
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt quickly across multiple campuses
- Professional, positive attitude and commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
