Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current EIPA score of 4.0 or higher is required
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English
- Experience in educational settings, especially supporting children in elementary grades
- Proven ability to work effectively with diverse teams including educators, therapists, and families
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Professionalism, reliability, and a nurturing approach to student interaction
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one interpretation services for a student throughout the academic day
- Facilitate clear and accurate communication between the student, peers, and staff
- Support the child’s social and academic engagement within the classroom
- Collaborate with teachers and other school professionals to promote accessibility and inclusion
- Maintain confidentiality, adhering to all school district guidelines and policies
