In this position, you’ll provide individualized sign language interpretation services for an elementary-aged student, ensuring effective communication and access to instruction throughout the school day. This is a fully onsite role in a welcoming school community, where your expertise will truly be valued.

Qualifications:

  • EIPA score of 4.0 or higher required
  • Proven proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English
  • Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of relevant educational terminology and protocols
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and student’s family
  • Professionalism, reliability, and a compassionate, student-centered approach

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 sign language interpretation for an elementary-aged student during instructional and non-instructional times
  • Accurately convey spoken and signed communication between teachers, peers, and the student
  • Support the student’s participation in classroom activities and school functions
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to facilitate an inclusive learning environment
  • Adhere to confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions and documentation
