Bring your expertise in sign language to a rewarding setting supporting a high school student for an entire academic year. This part-time contract opportunity offers approximately 16 hours per week, allowing you to make a meaningful impact while maintaining work-life balance.

As a dedicated ASL interpreter, you will facilitate clear, effective communication for a high school student in various educational settings. Your specialized skills will help ensure the student’s full participation in classroom activities, school events, and peer interactions, enhancing their educational experience and fostering inclusion.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably at the high school level
  • Familiarity with accommodating diverse learning styles and student needs
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Relevant certification or state credential for sign language interpreting
  • Reliability and professionalism in a school environment

Responsibilities Include:

  • Interpreting classroom lessons, discussions, and activities between teachers, students, and staff
  • Facilitating communication during school functions, meetings, and extracurricular events as needed
  • Supporting direct and clear information exchange to promote the student’s learning and engagement
  • Collaborating with educators and support staff to adapt communications as required
  • Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to school policies
