Sign Language Interpreter in Renton, WA

We're seeking a dedicated professional for a full-time contract position, Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 2:45pm. This opportunity places you at the heart of a dynamic program serving Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students at the middle school level.
You’ll work closely with a strong team in a district recognized for its comprehensive DHH offerings—enjoy the benefits of lots of structure, resources, and collegial support. Your interpreting will span DHH and general education classrooms, providing both small group and 1:1 services tailored to the unique needs of each student.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and educational interpreting
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher preferred
- Experience supporting DHH students in a school setting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt to varied classroom environments
- Flexibility and commitment to student success
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction and interactions for middle school DHH students
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Provide small-group and individualized interpreting as needed
- Support a structured, inclusive DHH environment
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and DHH program staff
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
