Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Englewood, Colorado
Make an impact supporting students and educators as a contract educational Sign Language Interpreter in the greater Englewood, CO area. This full-time, full school year position focuses on providing interpreting services across a variety of school sites with students in both special education and general education settings, ranging from mild to severe support needs. All interpreting will be performed onsite, and this is a fully itinerant role, requiring flexibility and adaptability as you move between campuses.
Qualifications:
- EIPA Score of 3.5 or higher (required)
- Current Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Authorization for educational sign language interpreting
- Experience interpreting for both special education (SPED) and general education populations, mild through severe
- Familiarity navigating multiple school sites or providing itinerant services is preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse school teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver sign language interpreting services for students and staff in classroom and school-based settings
- Work with students of varying abilities, ensuring accessible communication in academic instruction and school activities
- Adapt to different classroom environments and collaborate closely with educators, case managers, and support staff
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all CDE and district policies for educational interpreters
- Perform assignments across multiple sites, facilitating seamless communication for students throughout their school day
