Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Littleton, Colorado
Step into a meaningful role supporting students across several school sites as an educational Sign Language Interpreter. This full-time, school-year position focuses on delivering essential services to both general and special education populations, ranging from mild to severe needs. As an itinerant interpreter, you’ll have the unique opportunity to work within dynamic educational teams, adapting to a variety of classroom environments and student needs on a daily basis—all at convenient schools in the Greenwood Village area.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid CDE (Colorado Department of Education) Authorization for educational sign language interpreting (required)
- EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or higher
- Previous experience working in K-12 settings, particularly in both general and special education classrooms
- Ability to collaborate with multiple school teams as an itinerant interpreter
- Proficient in American Sign Language and skilled at adapting interpreting strategies to student needs
- Organized, flexible, and responsive to scheduling across multiple school locations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in mainstream and specialized educational settings
- Support full access to curriculum, classroom discussions, and school activities
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to ensure optimal learning outcomes
- Adjust interpreting methods based on the individual needs of students with mild to severe disabilities
- Travel between assigned schools according to daily and weekly schedules
